Ashi Dancler
Jared “ashi” Maurice Dancler is a multi-disciplinary artist from a small valley in upstate New
York, now a resident of this Multnomah valley 12 years. Ashi explores creativity through
movement, story telling, music, theater, cooking & all! A steady member of Shaking the Tree
audiences, he’s very grateful to be supporting local theater arts & this special presentation with
an offering of voice.

Clifton Holznagel
Clifton is a performer and projection artist based between Portland, OR and the Gerlach, NV. You may have seen him at Shaking the Tree in Fucking A and The Caucasian Chalk Circle. Most recently he played Rob in California with The Theatre Co. He’s performed at CoHo, Vertigo, defunkt and other various black boxes of Portland’s past decade. His current installation, So Below, a talking mannequin striving for truth is on display in the lobby. It debuted this summer at Shift Festival in Grass Valley, Oregon. He’s made some solo shows, all as weird as possible. Studied with ICP and Dell Arte. Sometimes he’s clownin or makin music. He lives in the Northwest Nevada from May-October managing the tent program for worker housing at Burning Man. He grew up in Ohio City, Cleveland, Ohio and that’s still important to him. Sammy Rat Rios (Member of Actors' Equity)
Sammy acts, writes, directs, and composes for theatre and film. Select stage credits: The Brother and the Bird; Blood Wedding (Shaking the Tree), Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really; Young Americans (Portland Center Stage), A Christmas Carol (Portland Playhouse), We're Gonna Die (AT&T Performing Arts Center), In the Next Room...or the Vibrator Play (River & Rail Theatre), Se Llama Cristina (Kitchen Dog Theater). Sometimes Rios will try to sell you a credit card or cheese in a commercial to pay for their cats' vet bills. Other times, they write, produce, and perform music for their electronic solo project 'Rat Rios.' Education: B.F.A. in Playwriting and Directing from Southern Methodist University, Conservatory Acting graduate from British American Drama Academy in London, UK. Orlando Reyes Cabrera
Orlando’s previous works include Shopping and Fucking (2024; produced and directed by Annabel Cantor ), Blood Wedding (2023 @ Shaking the Tree), Trade (2023 @ 21ten through Corrib), Titus Andronicus (2022 Portland Playhouse). Roo Welsh
Roo is a member of the teaching faculty at PETE’s Institute for Contemporary Performance. Alongside Acting and teaching, he is a life-long student of self and a devoted Dad and husband. Earlier this Summer, Roo was seen in PETE’s production of A Seagull at Portland Center Stage where he previously worked with Rebecca Lingafelter as a part of the ensemble of I Think of You. Roo also appeared in PETE's production of The Americans in 2023. He can also be seen in Chris Gonzalez's short film, Wren Lavelle. Thank you Samantha for the opportunity to be a part of this reading. Rocco Weyer
Rocco Weyer is thrilled to spice up an otherwise uneventful and unimportant election by joining Ubu America. Hailing from Spain and Argentina, Rocco is an actor, photographer, and musician in Portland. A Lewis and Clark alumni, he has photographed numerous plays and dance festivals, made a documentary on theater during the pandemic, written an original play, acted in a couple films and in a few more plays. Previous roles include Sailor in Adopt a Sailor (21ten Theatre), Sean in Spear (Corrib Theater), the Bridegroom in Blood Wedding (Shaking the Tree), Joaco in (de)composition (Independent), Art in This is my Something, the Tyrant in Passion Play, Elder Jay in The Christians, and Trigorin in Stupid F***ing Bird (Lewis & Clark College). www.roccoweyer.com

Malu Willhoft
Malu is a Portland-based actor thrilled to join the reading of Evocation to Visible Appearance! Last year, she had the pleasure of portraying Jane in In a Different Reality She’s Clawing at the Walls at Shaking the Tree Theatre. Currently an undergraduate at Portland State University, Malu has just entered her senior year. Her artistic passions extend beyond acting, with a keen interest in filmmaking and multimedia hands-on art. Also she totally used ChatGBT to help her write this bio.

Rebby Yuer Foster- they/them (Director)
Rebby Yuer Foster is a Chinese American artist & director. 
Recent pieces with Shaking the Tree include, We Wrote This With You In Mind (director), In A Different Reality She's Clawing At The Walls (director), Forbidden Fruit (Alice), MODELMINORITY (director), Chick Fight (Her), Family (Alice), 家人: A Self Portrait (director/editor), Refuge: Our Lady of Lunar Reflection (director/editor), The Edge (director/editor), 抜け首 (director/editor). Recent acting credits include Once (Seacoast Repertory Theatre), We’ve Come to Believe (Humana Festival ‘19), Dracula (Actor’s Theatre of Louisville), & Xiaoyen (Actor’s Theatre of Louisville). Rebby is a former Acting Apprentice at the Actor’s Theatre of Louisville ‘18-19. They grew up in Seattle, Washington and received their B.A. in Theatre & English at the University of Portland.

Emily Hogan (Stage Manager)
EMILY HOGAN is a middle child and a double-Sagittarius. A transplant from Lompoc, CA, Emily studied theater at the University of Portland, focusing on dramaturgy and performance. Emily has performed with Shaking the Tree, Portland Revels, Hand2Mouth, and Milagro. Primarily, Emily works as a stage manager, managing Forbidden Fruit, Fucking A, MODELMINORITY, Chick Fight, and serving as ASM for Family at Shaking the Tree. Emily has also been a dramaturg on numerous productions, such as In A Different Reality She’s Clawing At The Walls (Shaking the Tree), i defy you, stars (Do It For Mead), and The Killing Fields (Orphic). Emily was also able to serve as a teaching artist for Hand2Mouth and Milagro, and is a current Hand2Mouth Company Member. 

Nate Raphael (Technical Director)
Nate Raphael is the Technical Director at Shaking the Tree. Recent shows he built with Shaking
the Tree include, The Brother and the Bird, We Wrote This With You in Mind, and Blood
Wedding. If he is not building sets, you can find him building furniture and coaching tennis
among other things in his free time. Education: BA in Fine Art and Sociology, Whitman College
