Samantha Van Der Merwe wins a Drammy for Directing

At this year's 30th Annual Drammy Awards, Samantha Van Der Merwe was awarded a Drammy for Outstanding Achievement in Direction for Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act by Athol Fugard.The play presented at Shaking The Tree in February 2009 was a heartbreaking portrait of forbidden love superbly acted by Amanda Soden, Shuhe Hawkins and Nathan Markiewicz. Samantha thanks her cast for their bravery and her fabulous stage manager Katy Calder for her patience and brilliance. She also thanks Ivy Dixon for her exquisite paintings. It was a wonderful experience.
